What we did in 2020, and we’ll do in 2021 — Orca Investment App Blog
It’s been a tough year, hasn’t it? Yet, amid all the uncertainties, we got to know each other. That’s already an impressive achievement on your list of accomplishments for the year. What’s important is that 2021 has the potential to be even more impressive — and to your benefit. That’s what we want, that’s what we’ve been trying to achieve, and hopefully, that’s where we’ll end up — together.
Twelve months ago, the Orca app was still but a dream. Now, the Beta is out — from dream to reality in one year! We are thrilled that, despite all the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”, we’ve made it — and you’ve made it too! That’s right, don’t sell yourself short — it takes inner courage to decide to invest, to seek out an alternative way to do it, and to start climbing a new learning curve.
So, here’s what we’ve done so far and what we are planning to achieve in the year to come. Here, we are going to share our vision for the future, so you can see how far you can go with Orca.
2020: the road is made by walking
True wisdom should always be put into practice. We put that wisdom into action and made sure every day of our work counted. As a result, the Orca team have developed a practical, informative, and fully functional product, almost from scratch. Not just another run-of-the-mill app, but one that brings something new to your investment experience, and your life.
Technically, we started developing the Orca app in 2019. Back then, it was a shapeless digital mass centred around the core concept of the project’s enthusiastic founders, Denis and Fyodor. It wasn’t until 2020 however, that we specified the objectives we wanted to achieve with Orca. Only then did the project start taking form.
You are probably between 22 and 45 years old, and looking for better ways to invest. Or, you’ve never invested before, but you want to know how, and how you can benefit from it. Right? We’re not psychic and we’re not spying on you — we just knew the kind of people we wanted to reach once we’d set the objectives for the Orca project. Tailwind is not enough for a successful journey — you need to know who’s charting the course. And we’re here to let you know that you’re a perfect fit for the ideal Orcanaut. So set sail!
When you know what you want to do and who you want to do it for, it makes sense to ask them what they think of the fruit of your labours. So, we’ve been using interviews, polls, questionnaires, and other kinds of interaction to make sure we know what you want to see in your investment app. We collected your ideas and compiled them into a structured knowledge base for the Orca project. Then, it was just a matter of time and effort to build the Orca app as you want it, and as you see it today.
The Orca app is now publicly available in the Beta version. You can see it, test it, use it — it’s fit for all the investment activities envisioned by the team and by people like you. On the app, you’ll find all you need to make the most of investing: news feeds directly from Dow Jones, stock analysis on any company you choose, instant withdrawal and deposit, categorised stock collections and portfolio suggestions, trailing stops, and many other features. Don’t worry, you won’t get lost on the Orca app — we’ve made it as simple as cracking a nut: you can test our collections, our interface and other cool things to see it. Every page of the app highlights where you are and what you’re doing, so it’s all nice and easy. Go ahead, try it out. And while you’re enjoying it, keep in mind it’s still just the Beta version — so, the very best of Orca is yet to come!
2021: none but the brave
In the flesh
The Orca Beta is very good — but not yet good enough! 2021 will see the official release of the Orca investment application in all its might and power. So, consider all those beta tests that you’ve been doing, or are about to do, just an aperitif: the meal is on the way!
Make it interesting
If learning to invest was as exciting as galloping on a horse, everyone would probably be investing. Well, we made Orca precisely because we want everyone to get a thrill from investing. Alright, our educational content is not quite like riding a horse — but you’ll still get the thrill from putting it into practice!
Caring for your money
They say that nothing’s certain in life except death and taxes. There’s no escaping either of them. But at least with taxes, you can minimize them. With Orca, you can open an ISA to help make the most of your investment. You’ll also be able to easily switch between accounts right there on the app!
Do you like tongue twisters? How about this one: “Trading on the LSE in London is nice, but trading on the NYSE in Nice is nicer!” Anyway, we’re planning to add NASDAQ and NYSE to Orca, so you’ll soon be able to trade American stocks too… which is nice!
There’s no point in revealing a secret — it wouldn’t be a secret anymore. Now, we can tell you that there will be a lot of cool features on the Orca app, and you’ll get them all once you subscribe. What are they? We’re not telling! It’s a secret!
Bonds, your bonds
Currently, you can invest in stocks and ETFs on Orca. In 2021, we will add bonds to the list. You always want more, don’t you?
Forget Brexit. Brunion!
The Orca investment app will be available internationally. Surely, people outside of the UK want to enjoy the benefits of Orca too. So, in 2021, we are planning to connect Europe — it’s not only politicians who bridge nations, you know!
